Description
Geotube® GT500 Dewatering Bag - Performance for African Conditions
The Geotube® GT500 1m x 1m dewatering bag, supplied under authorization from Solmax by Geosynthetics Africa is built from premium woven monofilament polypropylene. This advanced textile delivers fast, reliable dewatering with outstanding solids retention and resistance to clogging-with suitability assessed against the actual slurry and operating conditions.
Why GT500 Beats Slit Film Bags
- Strength: Minimum tensile 72 kN/m (MD) and 95 kN/m (CMD); seam strength 65 kN/m.
- Filtration: Characteristic opening size O90 = 250 μm and water permeability of 30 L/s/m² for faster drainage.
- Anti-clogging: Monofilament yarns maintain open pore structure to filter ultra-fines without blinding.
- Durability: UV resistant and suitable for tough site conditions.
Design & Features
- Dimensions: 1m x 1m cube-class bag
- Integrated pumping sleeve for easy filling
- Protective top cover to minimize contamination and evaporative losses
- Ideal for pilot trials, site sampling, and small operational batches
Applications
Mining tailings, dredging silt, municipal wastewater sludge, industrial effluents, and process residues across Southern, West, East, and Central Africa.

SELECTION · SPECIFICATION · PROJECT SUPPLY
Choose the right specification
Choose the system around the solids, water conditions, containment duty and available working space.
- For dewatering, provide slurry characteristics, flow and required filtrate quality; representative trials may be needed.
- For curtains or containment articles, define flow, depth, exposure, geometry and anchorage or filling conditions.
- Confirm fabric, dimensions, seams, connections, handling and operating limits for the actual system.
Define the quality records
Retain material and fabrication records, inspect deployment and connections, and agree operating inspections and acceptance criteria.
For a useful quotation: send the grade or performance specification, quantity, location, required date and scope. Availability, delivery and installation responsibilities are confirmed in the quotation.
