TechGrid Geogrids and Composites
Our TechGrid range includes biaxial geogrids and reinforcement composites for civil earthworks. We supply and install the selected grid or composite for its required reinforcement and separation functions.
Product description and supply
The TechGrid offering includes biaxial reinforcement and the TGC-B reinforced nonwoven composite range. TGC-B combines high-tenacity polyester reinforcement in two directions with a nonwoven geotextile component. The additional 40/40 option is a separate supplied selection whose construction is confirmed on its own datasheet.
Geosynthetics South Africa supplies the specified product with its grade documentation, roll requirements and delivery schedule. Any installation and QA/QC scope is defined against the approved ground-improvement design.
Read the grade data in its stated test context
The published TGC-B sheets report ultimate tensile strength in both principal directions under EN ISO 10319. The source reporting basis is MARV, and the listed standard roll size is 5 m × 100 m.
Long-term design values include product- and environment-specific assumptions. Check creep, damage, durability, cover timing and interfaces in the approved design rather than selecting a grade from ultimate strength alone.
TechGrid biaxial and TGC-B options
| Product | Ultimate MD / CD (kN/m) | Published roll size | Datasheet |
|---|---|---|---|
| TechGrid Biaxial 40/40 | 40 / 40 designation | Confirm exact supplied format | Request exact supplied-grade datasheet |
| TGC-B-55 | 55 / 55 | 5 m × 100 m | Request grade datasheet |
| TGC-B-105 | 105 / 105 | 5 m × 100 m | Request grade datasheet |
| TGC-B-210 | 210 / 210 | 5 m × 100 m | Request grade datasheet |
TGC-B ultimate values are MARV to EN ISO 10319. The 40/40 option is quoted against its own confirmed technical sheet; composite construction, roll dimensions, hydraulic values and long-term reductions are not assumed. A 5 m × 100 m roll covers 500 m² before laps and wastage.
Applications
Applications can include designed reinforcement and separation beneath roads, logistics areas, platforms and embankments. Define the soil, water conditions, loading, aggregate and acceptable deformation before selecting the system.
Where the geotextile provides filtration, assess its retention and hydraulic behaviour against the soil. A tensile rating does not establish filter compatibility or drainage capacity for the whole pavement.
Why choose TechGrid Geogrids and Composites?

Installation and technical guidance
Installation and QA/QC
Provide the exact grade, product construction, reinforcement layout, roll quantities and installation programme. Our team can coordinate the supply, delivery and defined installation scope with the required production and field records.
Check orientation, overlaps or connections, fabric continuity, material damage and fill placement before covering. Keep product identification, location records, inspections, fill acceptance and approved repairs in the handover pack.

Specification and quotation inputs
| Item | Confirm for this project |
|---|---|
| Function | Required reinforcement, separation and filtration duties. |
| Construction | Confirm whether an open grid or geotextile composite is specified. |
| Design data | Ultimate and long-term strength, strain, soil interaction and reductions. |
| Hydraulics | Opening size and permeability where a filtering fabric is included. |
| Execution | Layer layout, joints, fill, cover requirements and QA/QC records. |
Match the exact supplied grade to current documentation and the approved project specification. Product availability and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
Questions engineers and contractors ask
Is the additional 40/40 product the same as TGC-B-55?
No. They are separately designated selections. Confirm the exact 40/40 product datasheet; its construction and performance cannot be inferred from a different grade.
Can the composite replace a separate geotextile and geogrid?
It may be considered where it meets all specified functions. The engineer must review reinforcement, filtration, separation, installation and interface requirements before approving the substitution.
Can I use the biaxial range for an asphalt overlay?
These are soil-reinforcement selections. Asphalt interlayers require a product specifically selected for the pavement rehabilitation system.
Choose the scope you need
Supply only; manufacture or fabrication; supply and delivery; or supply with a defined installation and QA/QC scope. The quotation identifies materials, responsibilities, testing and the required handover records.
Design and procurement inputs
Select the product for the actual function: aggregate stabilisation, soil reinforcement or combined separation and reinforcement. Confirm aggregate compatibility, subgrade conditions, loading and the approved layer build-up.
Provide the product grade or performance specification, drawings or BOQ, quantities, site location and required date. We will define supply, delivery and any agreed installation and QA/QC responsibilities in the quotation.
