MIRAFI AR is a nonwoven geotextile range for filtration duties with abrasion demand. We supply and install the fabric beneath suitable rock armour and erosion-protection systems in river and coastal works.
Product description and supply
MIRAFI AR is a mechanically bonded continuous-filament nonwoven with enhanced resistance to abrasion stresses. It combines that feature with the separation and filtration functions of the specified geotextile grade.
Geosynthetics South Africa supplies the virgin-polypropylene AR material with the relevant grade documentation, traceability and delivery planning. Installation and inspection support can be defined for the proposed application.

Confirm the exact AR designation and the relevant abrasion, mechanical and hydraulic data. A generic abrasion-resistant description is not a substitute for the project performance criteria.
Compare the stated test methods, reporting basis and applicable certifications. Do not transfer numerical properties or service-life assumptions from a different MIRAFI range.

Identify the virgin polypropylene construction and traceability requirements in the submission. For 100+ year design requirements, obtain the selected grade’s supporting durability documentation and check the permitted environmental and exposure conditions.
The material’s abrasion resistance does not remove the need for appropriate construction handling, cover, drainage and maintenance provisions.
