GeoDrain Civil Drainage Systems
Our GeoDrain civil drainage range manages water behind retaining walls, around structures and beneath landscaped areas. We supply bare drainage cores and geotextile combinations and install the selected system with its collection and outlet details.

Product description and supply
GeoDrain civil drainage uses a dimpled core to provide an in-plane drainage void. Bare Dimpled Core is supplied without an integral filter; the TYPAR geotextile configuration adds the specified filtering interface so water can enter while soil retention is addressed.
Geosynthetics South Africa supplies the selected core and filter construction with grade-specific documentation. The quotation identifies dimensions, quantities, delivery and any agreed installation and inspection scope.
GeoDrain with TYPAR geotextile
The geotextile allows water into the core while retaining the adjacent soil to the specified filtration criteria. Identify the exact TYPAR grade, filter placement and attachment arrangement in the material submission. Do not treat every generic geotextile-faced board as the TYPAR option.
Applications
Applications include retaining walls, basements, foundations and podium structures where a drainage layer connects to a designed collection and discharge system. A drainage board does not replace waterproofing, and a short-term compression result does not establish an allowable burial depth.
Why choose GeoDrain Civil Drainage Systems?
- Structural and subsoil drainage
- Bare-core and filtered configurations
- Drainage supply and installation
Installation and technical guidance
Installation and QA/QC
Specify flow under the actual pressure, hydraulic gradient, boundary conditions and duration, together with long-term compression and filter intrusion. Detail laps, cut edges, terminations, outlets and protection during backfill. Record grade and filter identity, connections, damage repairs and inspection before covering.
Specification and quotation inputs
| Item | Confirm for this project |
|---|---|
| Configuration | Bare Dimpled Core or core with the specified TYPAR geotextile. |
| Hydraulics | Design flow, gradient, length, load, contact surfaces and outlet capacity. |
| Mechanical | Long-term compression, creep, construction loads and protection. |
| Filtration | Soil grading, opening size, permeability and clogging assessment. |
| Delivery | Area, exact grade, roll format, cut details and installation programme. |
Match the exact supplied grade to current documentation and the approved project specification. Product availability and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
Questions engineers and contractors ask
Can bare core be placed directly against soil?
Only where the design provides appropriate filtration or the interface does not require a filter. A bare core alone does not retain soil fines.
Are GeoDrain GEO 8-250 and GEO 10-400 automatically TYPAR-faced?
Confirm the exact supplied construction. The TYPAR option must be named in the quotation and technical submission; generic filter-faced catalogue descriptions do not establish the geotextile brand.
Choose the scope you need
Supply only; manufacture or fabrication; supply and delivery; or supply with a defined installation and QA/QC scope. The quotation identifies materials, responsibilities, testing and the required handover records.
Design and procurement inputs
Specify in-plane flow at the design load and gradient, creep resistance, filter compatibility, connections and discharge points. A drainage layer requires a functioning outlet.
Provide the product grade or performance specification, drawings or BOQ, quantities, site location and required date. We will define supply, delivery and any agreed installation and QA/QC responsibilities in the quotation.
