GSE StudLiner Concrete Protection
GSE StudLiner is a mechanically anchored HDPE lining for concrete structures exposed to suitable wastewater and industrial conditions. We supply the lining and install the welded joints, penetration and termination details that complete the protection system.

Product description and supply
GSE StudLiner is an HDPE concrete-protection lining with integral studs that anchor into concrete during casting. The barrier face and welded joints form the specified protective lining, while the embedded studs provide mechanical attachment to the structure.
Geosynthetics South Africa supplies the Solmax-manufactured product and coordinates the agreed fabrication, delivery, installation and QA/QC scope. The selected grade and connection details are identified in the technical submission.
Applications
Potential applications include wastewater structures, process-water tanks, channels and industrial containment where the specified liner is compatible with the service environment. Describe the liquid, chemical concentration, temperature, cleaning regime and abrasion exposure.
For rehabilitation, provide the condition survey and proposed new concrete or anchorage detail. For new construction, include formwork drawings, construction joints, penetrations, movement joints and access arrangements.
Why choose GSE StudLiner Concrete Protection?
- Mechanically anchored concrete lining
- Welded connections and details
- Material supply and specialist installation
Installation and technical guidance
Installation and QA/QC
A practical quotation separates the liner area from corners, terminations, penetrations and other fabricated components. Panel geometry and the concrete programme determine what can be prepared before delivery and what must be completed on site.
Our scope can bring together material procurement, prefabrication, site welding and quality records. Confirm responsibilities for formwork, concrete placement, access, lifting, temporary protection and inspection before the casting programme is agreed.
Agree the inspection and test plan before work begins. Records should identify delivered materials, approved details, panel locations, welding procedures, inspections and repairs, together with the testing required for the selected liner system.
Concrete embedment and seam integrity require different checks. A seam test result does not establish the structural adequacy of the concrete or anchorage. Define acceptance criteria and any independent inspection with the project engineer.
Specification and quotation inputs
| Item | Confirm for this project |
|---|---|
| Barrier material | HDPE concrete protection liner; specify the exact grade and thickness. |
| Anchorage | Integral studs embedded in concrete; submit the manufacturer anchorage information. |
| Exposure | State chemicals, concentrations, temperatures, abrasion and cleaning conditions. |
| Details | Submit construction joints, pipe penetrations, corners, terminations and transitions. |
| Acceptance | Approve fabrication drawings, installation procedures and the project test plan. |
Match the exact supplied grade to current documentation and the approved project specification. Product availability and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
Questions engineers and contractors ask
Is StudLiner the same as a smooth HDPE pond liner?
It is a concrete protection system with integral embedment studs. Smooth geomembranes and concrete connection profiles have different functions; selection depends on the approved design.
Can you quote supply and installation together?
Yes. Send the drawings, quantities, project location and required dates. We define material, fabrication, delivery, welding and QA/QC responsibilities in the quotation.
Is there one chemical-resistance or pull-out value for every project?
Use the current grade-specific manufacturer data and the actual service conditions. Thickness, testing conditions, concrete properties and design assumptions must be identified before a performance value is accepted.
Choose the scope you need
Supply only; manufacture or fabrication; supply and delivery; or supply with a defined installation and QA/QC scope. The quotation identifies materials, responsibilities, testing and the required handover records.
Design and procurement inputs
Specify the concrete interface, anchorage, sheet thickness, welded joints, penetrations, termination details and inspection method for the actual exposure.
Provide the product grade or performance specification, drawings or BOQ, quantities, site location and required date. We will define supply, delivery and any agreed installation and QA/QC responsibilities in the quotation.
