Eurobent GCL CS – HDPE-Coated Geosynthetic Clay Liners

HDPE-Laminated Composite GCL Barriers For Critical Containment Systems Across Africa

At Geosynthetics Africa, we supply and install certified Eurobent GCL CS HDPE-coated geosynthetic clay liners engineered for high-performance containment, waterproofing, and environmental protection in mining, landfill, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

Designed as an advanced composite barrier liner system, Eurobent GCL CS integrates reinforced needle-punched sodium bentonite with a thermally bonded HDPE geomembrane backing. This dual-layer configuration delivers enhanced sealing performance by combining the ultra-low permeability of bentonite with the impermeability, durability, and chemical resistance of an HDPE geomembrane — ideal for critical containment applications including tailings facilities, hazardous waste cells, tunnels, reservoirs, and foundation works

Also referred to as composite GCL liners or geomembrane-backed bentonite liners, HDPE-coated GCL systems provide enhanced barrier performance for critical containment infrastructure.

Why Choose Eurobent GCL CS?

Dual Sealing System – HDPE geomembrane + bentonite core
Thermally Locked Bond – prevents delamination
High Puncture Resistance – reinforced structure resists mechanical stress
Self-Sealing Capability – natural sodium bentonite swells to seal punctures
Excellent Chemical Resistance – suitable for aggressive leachates
Fast & Easy Installation – reduces labour and overlap time compared to traditional CCLs

Product Structure

Eurobent GCL CS consists of:

  • Upper layer: High-strength woven geotextile

  • Core: Natural sodium bentonite with high swell index

  • Lower layer: Nonwoven geotextile

  • Laminated barrier: HDPE, LLDPE or PVC geomembrane, thermally bonded to the nonwoven side

📌 The geomembrane layer enhances the GCL’s barrier properties while protecting the bentonite from desiccation, chemical attack, and root intrusion.

Compliance & Standards

  • ISO 10318-1: Geosynthetic Clay Liner – GBR-C

  • ASTM D5887 / D5890 / D6102 test methods

  • Conforms to global environmental containment guidelines

Installation Support Across Africa

Geosynthetics Africa offers full installation, welding, and QA/QC services for GCL CS across Southern, West, Central, and East Africa. With experience in diverse geotechnical environments – from gold and lithium mines to infrastructure mega-projects – we ensure every liner is installed to international quality standards.
