Description

MIRAFI® Geolon® HMi-5 is a premium woven multifilament polypropylene geotextile developed by Solmax for subgrade stabilization and base reinforcement. It combines exceptionally high stiffness and tensile strength at extremely low elongation, ensuring minimal deformation, reduced rutting, and superior load distribution under repeated traffic or heavy industrial loads.

This advanced reinforcement fabric is part of Solmax’s MIRAFI® Geolon® HMi Series, designed to extend pavement life, reduce aggregate use, and deliver cost-effective, sustainable performance in transportation, mining, and energy infrastructure.

Key Features & Advantages

  • High Modulus at Low Strain: Provides reinforcement stiffness up to 1,100 kN/m at minimal elongation, controlling deformation and settlement under load.

  • Base & Subgrade Stabilization: Enhances bearing capacity and reduces rut depth—up to 37 % aggregate savings versus unreinforced designs.

  • Separation & Filtration: Prevents intermixing of soil and aggregate layers while maintaining excellent water permeability.

  • Durability & Robustness: Resists installation damage with high chemical and biological resistance.

  • Sustainable Design: Manufactured from 100 % recyclable polypropylene, reducing environmental impact and supporting long-life, low-carbon infrastructure.

  • Certified Quality: Produced under strict EN ISO and GRI-GM standards and tested in Solmax-accredited laboratories.

Applications

  • Road and rail construction over weak subgrades

  • Working platforms and haul roads in mining operations

  • Embankment and load transfer reinforcement

  • Base stabilization for paved and unpaved roads

  • Separation and filtration layers in infrastructure projects

Performance Summary

  • Tensile strength at 2 – 5 % strain: up to 55 kN/m (MD) and 33 kN/m (CMD)

  • High stiffness modulus: ≈ 1,000 – 1,100 kN/m

  • Low elongation and creep resistance for long-term stability

  • Excellent filtration and drainage capacity (O₉₀ ≈ 300 µm; permeability ≈ 20 mm/s)

Installation & Support
