Description

The Mirafi™ S51 Geobag is a versatile nonwoven geotextile sandbag designed for erosion control and flood defense where more mass and durability are required than community sandbags. Measuring 0.80m x 0.45m and typically filled to about 70kg, it balances handling convenience with improved puncture resistance and serviceability. The needle‑punched nonwoven allows hydraulic relief while retaining soil fines, helping to protect riverbanks, dunes, and canal shoulders during seasonal high flows.

S51 units are shipped flat for compact transport into remote areas and filled on site with local sand, reducing logistics costs and enabling rapid response. Crews can place bags by hand or with light equipment, arranging courses in running bond to interlock and limit under‑seepage. Typical applications include temporary coastal dune reinforcement, streambank stabilization, drainage channel protection, and emergency flood works.
