Functions
- Separation: keeps the subgrade and the aggregate apart so the layerworks keep their design thickness.
- Filtration: retains soil while letting water through, sized on O90 and permeability.
- Drainage: carries water within the plane of the fabric to the outlet.
- Protection: cushions geomembranes against puncture from the subgrade and the cover layer.
Supply, documentation and installation
Each supply includes the current datasheet and roll and batch traceability. We hold stock in Johannesburg and Cape Town, with a Durban stockist, and deliver nationwide and across Southern Africa through the Geosynthetics Africa Group. Installation can be added as part of a lining or drainage package.
Frequently asked questions
Which grade do I need for liner protection?
It depends on the cover material, the load and the liner thickness. Send your cross-section and we will propose a P-series grade with a supporting puncture check.
Can MIRAFI replace a specified geotextile?
Only after the engineer accepts a comparison of the test properties. Similar mass alone does not prove equivalence.
What roll sizes do you stock?
Roll width and length vary by grade. Ask for the current stock list for your branch.
Do you deliver outside South Africa?
Yes, to Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and further afield through the group.
