Description
Geosynthetics South Africa supplies the PolyTape 30 Silt Fence (700 mm × 200 m), a premium woven polypropylene (PP) slit-film geotextile developed specifically for erosion control and sediment retention. Designed for Africa’s demanding conditions, this silt fence combines durability, high tensile strength, and reliable filtration performance to protect watercourses, stormwater drains, and environmentally sensitive zones during earthworks.
Why choose PolyTape 30 Silt Fence?
-
Strength & Durability: Manufactured from PolyTape 30 woven slit-film geotextile (30 kN/m class), ensuring excellent tensile resistance against site handling, wind loads, and hydraulic stresses.
-
Proven Environmental Protection: Controls soil loss, reduces sediment transport, and protects downstream environments in compliance with international and South African environmental best practices.
-
Easy Handling & Installation: Lightweight rolls (700 mm wide × 200 m long) for quick site deployment, compatible with steel Y-standards, timber posts, or rebar supports.
-
Versatility: Suitable for civil engineering, mining, road construction, pipeline works, and building sites across Africa.
Applications in South Africa & Africa:
-
Perimeter control for construction sites
-
Temporary sediment barriers for drainage channels
-
Mining haul road and stockpile runoff protection
-
Agricultural and urban development projects near rivers and wetlands

SELECTION · SPECIFICATION · PROJECT SUPPLY
Choose the right specification
Start with the required separation, filtration, drainage or protection function, then compare the relevant properties.
- For filtration, review soil retention, opening size, permeability and clogging conditions.
- For protection, assess puncture, loading and contact conditions within the complete lining system.
- Confirm tensile and survivability requirements, reporting basis, roll dimensions and installation details.
Define the quality records
Match roll labels and supplied-grade data to the approved specification. Inspect placement, continuity, joints and damage before covering.
For a useful quotation: send the grade or performance specification, quantity, location, required date and scope. Availability, delivery and installation responsibilities are confirmed in the quotation.
