Description
MIRAFI® P40 is a 400gsm ASQUAL-certified nonwoven geotextile purpose-built for HDPE liner protection. Manufactured from 100% polypropylene continuous filaments, it provides superior cushioning and filtration to protect GSE geomembranes in mining, landfill, dam and water projects. Geosynthetics Africa supplies across Africa with rapid delivery and technical support.
Performance advantages
- Medium-weight geotextile with robust puncture resistance (CBR 4.7 kN)
- Effective filtration and separation to prevent subgrade fines migration
- Excellent tensile properties for installation resilience
- Trusted on clay, gravel and rocky subgrades beneath HDPE liners
Key specifications: 400 g/m²; thickness 3.4 mm; tensile strength 27 kN/m (MD/CMD); CBR puncture 4.7 kN; roll 6 m x 100 m (600 m²).
Supply, delivery and installation across Africa
Geosynthetics South Africa undertakes projects through three service options:
- Supply only - products supplied to the agreed specification.
- Supply and delivery - materials and logistics coordinated to your project site.
- Supply, delivery and QA/QC-controlled installation - one coordinated scope from procurement to documented handover.
For projects across Africa, we coordinate with the Geosynthetics Africa Group to mobilise installation crews from group companies across the continent. Materials, delivery, mobilisation and project-specific quality records are agreed as part of the project scope.

Supply, delivery & installation
South African supply
We are the South African supplier of MIRAFI P40 liner-protection geotextiles. We have ready stock of standard grades and formats for South African projects.
Delivery & cross-border supply
We supply MIRAFI P40 liner-protection geotextiles across South Africa and Southern Africa, including cross-border delivery. Roll handling, weather protection and site unloading are coordinated with your delivery.
How we install
We install MIRAFI P40 liner-protection geotextiles. Clear sharp objects and prepare the supporting surface so the fabric lies in full contact. Unroll the selected MIRAFI grade without folds, form the specified overlaps or sewn joints and repair damage. Place cover material carefully without trafficking directly on exposed fabric.
Specialist installation supported by Geosynthetics Africa (Pty) Ltd, an IAGI Installer Member.

SELECTION · SPECIFICATION · PROJECT SUPPLY
Choose the right specification
Select liner-protection geotextile for the actual membrane, contact materials and loading.
- Review puncture and cushioning performance within the proposed lining build-up.
- Confirm contact surfaces, normal loads, survivability and chemical conditions.
- Specify the exact grade, reporting basis and installation detail; fabric mass alone does not establish protection.
Define the quality records
Verify roll identity and supplied-grade data, continuous coverage, joints and damage before placing the adjacent layer.
For a useful quotation: send the grade or performance specification, quantity, location, required date and scope. Availability, delivery and installation responsibilities are confirmed in the quotation.
