Description

  • The MIRAFI®  S41 belongs to Solmax’s Bidim S-Series — a family of mechanically bonded, needle-punched nonwoven polypropylene geotextiles designed for separation, filtration, and drainage functions in road and infrastructure works.
Manufactured from 100 % UV-stabilized continuous polypropylene filaments, S41 combines high strength, flexibility, and hydraulic stability for long-term soil reinforcement and filtration performance.

With more than five decades of proven field use, MIRAFI® Bidim® S-Series products provide reliable soil stabilization, efficient drainage, and reduced aggregate consumption, ensuring longer service life and lower environmental impact.

    Key Features & Advantages

    • Mechanically bonded nonwoven: Delivers high tensile strength and puncture resistance during installation and service.

    • Separation & stabilization: Prevents intermixing of fine subgrade and coarse aggregate, maintaining layer integrity.

    • Filtration & drainage efficiency: Ensures controlled water flow while retaining fine soil particles.

    • Durability: Chemically inert and resistant to biological and alkaline attack.

    • Sustainability: 100 % polypropylene, fully recyclable and environmentally safe.

    • Certified quality: Produced under ASQUAL certification, tested in accordance with EN ISO 10319, EN ISO 11058, EN ISO 12236, and EN ISO 12956.

    Applications

    • Road and rail subgrade separation and stabilization

    • Working platforms and construction access roads

    • Drainage trenches and leachate collection systems

    • Landfill and reservoir liner protection layers

    • Erosion control and slope stabilization

    • Filtration layers in retaining and embankment structures

    Installation Guidelines (Summary)

    1. Prepare the subgrade: Level surface; remove ruts > 100 mm.

    2. Roll out geotextile: Place directly on the prepared area without tension.

    3. Overlap or weld: Minimum 300 mm overlap (500 mm for soft subgrades); welding recommended for grades ≥ 200 g/m².

    4. Repair damages: Patch with same grade geotextile overlapping ≥ 500 mm.

    5. Place fill: Back-dump aggregate onto the fabric; avoid direct truck traffic.

    6. Spread and compact: Use tracked equipment and vibratory rollers; target rut depth ≤ 30 mm.

    7. Re-grade if required: Fill ruts with fresh aggregate only.
