Product Description

EnviroWool SoilLock™ is manufactured from Poplar wood wool fibres sewn between two lightweight, photodegradable polypropylene nets using biodegradable yarn at 50 mm stitch centres.

The open-matrix excelsior structure creates:

  • Superior soil-to-fibre contact

  • High friction interface

  • Moisture retention zone for seed germination

  • Long-term erosion protection

Unlike coconut fibre mats, wood wool provides a balanced combination of strength, water absorption, and soil reinforcement.

Installation Guidelines

Proper installation is critical to performance.

  1. Prepare subgrade (remove loose debris, grade slope)

  2. Seed and fertilise prior to installation (if required)

  3. Roll blanket downslope

  4. Overlap edges by 100–150 mm

  5. Staple at 300–500 mm centres (increase on steep slopes)

  6. Install anchor trench at crest (300 mm x 300 mm recommended)

  7. Backfill and compact anchor trench
